Preserving History

Before Laguna Beach became the thriving, bustling, coastal city we have all come to love, it was a simple town people stumbled upon as they headed to the West for fame and fortune.  This project reimagines the Lumberyard Restaurant as a Woodworking School, hearkening back to the property’s roots as a literal lumberyard and civic center of town.  The restoration of the exterior building to its original façade preserves the charm, elegance, and character of the Normandy-style architecture.  The rehabilitation of the interior space creates open, spacious common areas that still feel welcoming.
