Interior Designers Institute 2018 Knoll Award Recipient
We are proud to announce that our founder, Chidimma Abuka, received a full scholarship for the Master of Interior Architecture program at IDI (Interior Designers Institute, Newport Beach, CA) for the 2018-2019 academic year. She was also the recipient of IDI’s 2018 Knoll Award.
The Knoll Award is given to the most outstanding student in IDI’s BA graduating group and must possess a high GPA, extraordinary talent in design, outstanding social skills, willingness to give to the community, willingness to give back to IDI and fellow students, leadership skills and skills to succeed in the workplace as an interior designer. Ms. Abuka received both an AA and BA in Interior Design through IDI. She has also received her BA from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA, and her MBA from Concordia University in Irvine, CA.
Ms. Abuka has been active in the world of Interior design, both inside and outside the walls of IDI. She volunteered as 2015-2017 ASID Student President and as 2017 IIDA Student Lead. She was Student Design Lead for the 2016 Orange County Philharmonic House Of Design. She is currently IIDA SOCAL OC City Center Student Liaison and, in that capacity, continues to facilitate relationships between students and the interior design community.
